restorative helen

Restorative Yoga may be different to what you think of as ‘yoga’. There’s no requirement to be flexible or fit, just a desire to erase anxieties, ease daily aches and pains, have more energy and give your mind and body the space it needs to foster the positivity you’re looking for.

This workshop will cover the science behind conscious breathing, and how the power of your breath alone can affect your blood pressure, health of your heart and increase the capacity of your memory. Included in the workshop will be a number of breathing techniques that you can learn during the afternoon session and take that information home with you to practice every day. There will be an extended session of restorative yoga postures, using props such as cushions, bolsters, belts, blocks and eye pillows. Within this time there will be meditations which can also be used during your daily life, to make you more mindful and to make life more enjoyable and less stressful! You will relax in the deepest way, have an ability to tap in to your true self and feel positive about changes you can make to your life.

The workshop is ideal for those with chronic conditions, exhaustion, injuries or for just anyone in need of a complete rest!

“I’ve tried all kinds of treatment for depression and anxiety and can honestly say that restorative yoga has been the only one to work while letting me be me” Mary, Coventry

“Having had major issues with chronic back pain for a very long period of time, so unable to get comfortable, causing me problems sleeping, a friend of mine suggested yoga as a form of relaxation. Since joining Helen’s restorative class, my sleep pattern has completely changed and I am able to get real rest, which is definitely benefitting my overall health, my chiropractor has noticed a difference in my back health too. Helen makes her classes very warm and welcoming and she’s very knowledgable.” Jo, Coventry

Daily Practice Workshop

Date: 2020 dates TBC

Location: St. James’ Church Hall, Knoll Drive, Stivichall, Coventry CV3 5BT (ample parking available!)

Would you like a daily yoga practice but have no idea where to begin? Maybe you come to my classes and just can’t think how you can incorporate a practice at home in a shortened length of time?

A daily 10 minute practices can really make a difference to your day. I can show you what to do before you even get out of bed and provide you with a plan for various times of the day…all the way up to bedtime .

Each practice will include a body-based meditation and some pranayama (breathing practice). The practices will range from complete restorative to a more flowing sun salutation sequence to energise, focus the mind and to maintain physical fitness.

In order to plan the workshop I will be asking the attendees to inform me of what’s they would like. What are you’re yoga needs? Let me know when booking

Yin Yoga Workshop

Cost: £30

Dates: 2020 dates to be confirmed

Location: St. Barbara’s Church Hall, 22 Rochester Road, Earlsdon, Coventry CV5 6AG (ample parking available!)

“Unhurried postures unstained by striving” Sarah Powers

Do you have a yoga practice where you’d like to stay in pigeon a little longer and melting heart is heavenly? Perhaps you’ve attended a class with me where I’ve instructed you to exit either of these poses and you wish you could stay longer? These are two examples of Yin Yoga poses and this workshop could be for you!

Yin is the cool but intense practice that brings you closer to yourself. If you’d like to slow down (or even if you find it a challenge) then this workshop is for you. Results are likened to having a good massage. The poses get deep into the fascia (connective tissue) to hydrate and refresh.

Each workshop will target different parts of the body and will look at various meridians according to the needs of the season.

Contact me to pre-book your space. Again spaces are limited so please book early.
