Booking is essential as spaces are limited, £24 for 4 consecutive sessions. Sadly I’ve had to cancel the Friday postnatal class at Tesco Arena in Coventry.
The Wednesday night classes have begun at my new venue….NEW Pregnancy Yoga 6.30-7.25pm and Beginners Slow Flow Yoga 7.30-8.25pm at Koco Community Centre. See classes page for details.
I now have a lunchtime class at the fabulous Fargo, 12-1pm every Thursday lunchtime in the Allsorts space (Unit 10), this is open to all and is only £4.
See you on the mat very soon!
Due to demand I will be teaching a new midweek pregnancy yoga class on Wednesday evenings at Koco Community Centre CV1 3JQ 6.30-7.30pm starting on 15th October. The space is lovely, perfect for a candlelit vibe as we get into Autumn. There’s free parking and is not far off the ringroad in Spon End so close to Chapelfields/Earlsdon.
Classes will be £8 drop in or £35 for 5 sessions. To book your place or to find out more check out more on the link below
Hello and welcome to September! Do you feel the need for a new healthy start to the school year but feel exhausted with a new baby and would love to chill out for an hour with other like minded mums? Check out this lovely testimonial from Suzanne who attended my classes from April 2014 and really enjoyed them. Look at Suzanne and Bronwen below…don’t they look relaxed?!
“I began baby yoga with Helen when my daughter was just eight weeks old. I was alerted to the class via the Balance yoga website, after enjoying a few pregnancy yoga classes in the run up to my baby’s birth. The baby yoga classes were just lovely. Helen is a kind, caring and considerate teacher, imparting bits of real mummy advice from her own experiences interspersed with excellent teaching. There is lots to do and learn to support your baby in their development and practical physical exercises to support you as a new mum both with lifting/carrying/standing sitting, pelvic floor, breathing, unwinding etc. The relaxation meditations were excellent especially the feeding meditation designed to support you in the early days of feeding your child and beyond. It is a lovely chance for some real one to one concentrated quality time with your baby, and a chance to start to build back your own physical strength. Helen clearly loves working with mums and babies and shows genuine interest in all the babies attending. Another lovely thing about the class is her kindness, taking the baby for a cuddle at an opportune moment to allow mums to partake in full relaxation/meditation . Highly recommend this unique class, for both mummies and babies alike, a true pleasure!”
Classes are held every Friday, £6 drop in. Come along and relax!
There is one week left of outdoor yoga (weather permitting) before we retreat back indoors for our usual Wednesday evening class at Earlsdon School 8-8.55pm from 3rd September
For week commencing 25th August I have two outdoor classes planned. The first is Monday evening, 25th August 7.30-8.30pm at an outdoors venue in Ash Green, so if you’re in the north of Coventry you might like to come along.
There is one more Wednesday evening class at The War Memorial Park. These have been really special classes, beautiful slow classes surrounded by nature under a large tree! For the final week of sunset outdoor yoga, there’ll be candles to make you feel extra cosy and prepare you for the upcoming Autumn.
Both classes are £6 each. Let me know if you’d like to join us!
There’s a new class starting in Coventry, geared towards those who are super-stressed, anxious and worn-out and the very idea of yoga may strike you with fear! You may be intrigued about yoga but have visions of skinny, bendy types all showing off in lycra…well, worry no more! This new restorative yoga class is for you. Yoga has a direct impact on the workings of the body and mind. Restorative yoga including some yin yoga elements (passive poses held for several minutes with the help of props, bolsters and blankets) can help to open up the body, stretching the body slowly and gently, and creating space in the body and mind to grow, fostering a positivity that you may be searching for. Sessions will include pranayama (breathing techniques) to counteract stress and anxiety and to help increase energy. There will also be meditation with visualisation to further enhance your own ability to beat stress. Yoga is a non-competitive practice, and there is no need to be super flexible! No yoga experience necessary.
Restorative Yoga, Mondays from 8th September 7-8pm at Serene Mind and Body, 93 Spon End, CV1 3HF (Parking available) £6 per session
Booking essential, classes strictly limited to 8
There’s no need to miss out on my yoga classes this Summer once the school holidays start. I’m moving the Wednesday night Earlsdon Primary class to The Memorial Park from July 23rd. There’ll be a slight change of time to 7.30-8.30pm. Obviously the classes will depend on the weather so I’ll keep an eye on the skies and let you know in advance. If you’ve never done yoga outside before then you really should! There’s nothing like breathing in the fresh green air whilst hanging upside down, cloud watching (or blue-skies-watching, hopefully). The class is suitable for beginners and is a slow flowing style giving you time to appreciate the benefits of each posture.
Let me know if you’d like to join us. Classes at Artspace are running as usual every Saturday 10-11am beginners and 11-12.30pm pregnancy. See you on the mat (or the grass!)
The Tour de France is about to begin and cycling seems to be more popular than it has ever been.
Take a look at all the reasons why yoga can benefit you if you’re a competitive cyclist (or even if you’re a fairweather type…nobody likes backache!)
or look at Emma below, about to master Crow pose, Bakasana. Emma, a huge cycling fan herself, regular 50 mile plus rider and recent Time Trial debutante has weekly one-to-one yoga sessions with me that are tailored to help with all the issues that present to a cyclist. Read her testimonial to see how yoga has helped her.
“Fabulous one to one yoga session with Helen. Tailored specifically to my needs and getting me fit and ready for my first cycling sportive. Already looking forward to my next session!”
